So the Safe Keep took me two goes to read - proof that sometimes it's your mood, not the book! I'd read about 60 pages, couldn't get into it.

I discovered some Isaac Bashevis Singer hitherto unknown to me, a novella and essays ,and two in the Quirke series by John Banville.
Also a great travel / memoir by Simon Loftus; I will give it you in January
