Yes, I would not have the nerve to actually take part in The Traitors. Far too manipulative but I suppose it is quite an accurate picture of how lots of people do behave?!

On Saltburn - don’t over think it. There are plenty of divisive things that I love. I say own it!

I write a list of books on my notes app on my phone and give each book a star of how much I enjoyed them, I never share them with anyone but it’s so handy to remember how you felt at the time of reading and also for recommendations!

I’ve started keeping a list over the last two years too, not in a competitive / metric chasing way but otherwise when people ask for a recommendation my mind just goes blank! It’s like when someone asks me for a restaurant recommendation my brain just burps “NaNdOs 🤪” it’s nice looking back over the year as a little reminder!

I’m into my third year of making a book list in my notes app, and the 2nd year of a list of films/theatre/comedy I’ve seen. It’s just names, authors, theatres, etc but as above it’s handy for recommendations and lovely to look back on.

The fact that it encourages people to be deceitful and spiteful and mean to each other, the world is bad enough as it is...why not show people how to be good and kind?! Yes, I may live in a bubble... I'm also not overly keen on Claudia W - such affectation! Returning to Saltburn - I would say that it's not like me to be effusive about any film or TV, but I just really enjoyed it - perhaps it was simply a moment in time, and was right for that moment for me. Who knows?!

Interesting isn't it, I absolutely loved Saltburn, thought it was faultless (and I didn't predict the ending) but can't abide The Traitors. However we can agree on Slow Horses. Immense.

Yes, I have a list too. I also find my newsletter helpful in keeping track since I often write about what I’m reading. Sometimes I just flip back. The best thing I read lately is Wellness by Nathan Hill. It’s so clever. There’s so much heart. And it’s such a fascinating look into modern sociology. Turns a lot of ideas on its head. Check it out. Thx for these recs!
